Main Street Zionsville Receives Main Street Designation

Indiana-Main-Street-LogoMain Street Zionsville (MSZ) received the Main Street designation from Indiana Main Street and the Office of Community and Rural Affairs.

The Indiana Main Street program supports local communities in enhancing their historic districts, promoting small businesses, and improving the overall quality of life for residents and visitors alike.

This designation provides Main Street Zionsville with access to valuable resources and expertise to implement targeted strategies that will strengthen our community’s economic vitality.

This prestigious recognition highlights the commitment to continue to grow the Main Street Zionsville district into a thriving destination that blends historic charm with unique commerce, where residents and visitors come together to experience community and connection.

“Receiving the Main Street designation is more than just a title; it represents a collective effort in creating a vibrant, livable space for everyone,” said Erica Carpenter, founding MSZ board president. “This achievement is a testament to the hard work of our local stakeholders, including businesses, residents, volunteers and organizations that share our vision for a thriving downtown.”

The Main Street Zionsville program is already working to enhance the visual appeal of the downtown area, support local businesses, facilitate community events that draw visitors and foster a sense of pride and ownership among residents.

A main street organization’s performance is evaluated by Indiana Main Street, which works in partnership with Main Street America to identify organizations that meet rigorous performance standards.

“As we celebrate 40 years of Indiana Main Street, we are excited to welcome eight new communities into the program and see six organizations level up,” said OCRA Executive Director Fred Glynn. “The Indiana Main Street program continues to grow and help communities prioritize downtown revitalization, transform their main street corridors and fuel local engagement. Congratulations to our 15 newly designated main streets organizations!”
